The Saiseta Comprehensive Development Zone in Vientiane, Laos is located in Vientiane, the capital of Laos, with a planned investment of US$5 billion and a total land area of 11.5 square kilometers. On November 18, 2010, the "Foundation Laying Ceremony of Laos Capital Comprehensive Development Project and the Unveiling Ceremony of Laos-China Joint Investment Co., Ltd." was successfully held, and the project was officially launched; the gate of the development zone started construction, and the development zone entered the formal construction stage.
The Vientiane Saisetha Comprehensive Development Zone is a bilateral cooperation project signed in June 2010 under the witness of the then Vice President of Laos, Bunyan Volaji, and the then Vice President of China, Xi Jinping. It is a national-level overseas economic and trade cooperation zone and an international production capacity cooperation platform built by China in Laos. It is also a national-level special economic zone in Laos.
